Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (ECE/ISR) was a plenary speaker in New Orleans on March 11 as part of the College Board?s 2015 Diversity Conferences. Her topic was ?A Change Must Come: African Americans and STEM,? and she spoke at A Dream Deferred: The Future of African American Education.

About the conference
College Board Diversity Conferences are a key part of its mission to connect students to college success and opportunity. This conference, in its eleventh year, was developed to discuss new solutions, share best practices, and collaborate with colleagues to make a difference for African American students.

The College Board, based in New York City, is the organization behind high school Advanced Placement classes and the SAT standardized test. The board also aids students in their college search. It was created more than a century ago to expand access to higher education.
