OmniSpeech, a start-up company based on Professor Carol Espy-Wilson's research, recently was mentioned as an example of entrepreneurial success on local Washington, D.C. television.

On the Jan. 26 "Washington Business Report," Jim Hughes, of UM Ventures was interviewed about university-business entrepreneurship. Of OmniSpeech, he said "this is a software that we think ultimately will be on most cell phones."

Espy-Wilson?s invention takes a novel approach to the challenge of ensuring clear speech in noisy environments. Espy-Wilson recently demonstrated OmniSpeech at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
