Professor Steve Marcus (ECE/ISR) is the recipient of the 2013 Poole & Kent Company Teaching award, given to senior faculty in the A. James Clark School of Engineering.

Marcus is a former director of the Institute for Systems Research and a former chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Currently he is the director of faculty leadership in the office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, where he develops strategies for mentoring junior and senior faculty and for developing and supporting faculty leaders throughout the university.

Marcus has been a major contributor to the Clark School?s Future Faculty Program, where he has educated and provided mentorship to many graduate students who aspire to become faculty members at research universities. In both graduate and undergraduate courses, Marcus is dedicated to his students and is committed to their learing.
