ISR-affiliated Associate Professor Steven Gabriel (CEE) and two of his doctoral students, Seksun Moryadee and Hakob Avetisyan, recently were involved in four presentations to U.S. and foreign energy organizations. The presentations were part of the LinkS energy project funded by the Research Council of Norway. The first presentation was in Paris this past May to Electricité de France (EDF), the French national energy company. Gabriel and Moryadee highlighted the influence of U.S. natural gas exports to both Europe and Asia. Additionally, their talk considered the uncertainty of shale gas production in China and renewable energy policies such as "20-20-20." Gabriel gave additional talks on this subject in June in Beijing to both the Chinese State Grid (national power company) as well as the Chinese National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC). In addition, Gabriel, Moryadee and Avetisyan gave a talk on U.S. gas exports to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in July. This talk was the second installment of the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s Monthly Forecasting Series with about 50 people in attendance.
