Professor Min Wu

 

Professor Min Wu (ECE/UMIACS/ISR) is one of a few dozen guests invited by the Presidents of the National Academies to attend the Presidents' Circle 2012 Annual Meeting. The meeting was held in Washington, D.C., on May 17-18, 2012. Also invited to attend from the University of Maryland A. James Clark School of Engineering is Associate Dean Alison Flatau from Aerospace Engineering.

The Presidents’ Circle of the National Academies is an honorary association that engages with the Presidents of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and Institute of Medicine (IOM) to ensure they have the intellectual, human, and financial resources needed to sustain and enhance their work. The theme of this year's annual meeting is on global issues, crises, and policy. Distinguished speakers presented timely issues and led extensive discussions related to energy security, the future of nuclear energy, dual use biomedical research of concern, science and technology in global affairs and government service. Presidents of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and Institute of Medicine also shared with the Circle members and guests recent efforts by the National Academies, and reflected on the Academies' response toward challenges to the Nation.
