University of Maryland President C.D. Mote has announced that ISR-affiliated Professor Joseph Jájá (ECE/UMIACS) has been appointed as the university?s interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

JáJá succeeds Jeff Huskamp, who passed away suddenly in late May.

A distinguished researcher and administrator, JáJá served as the director of UMIACS from 1994 through 2004.
