ISR alumnus and former ISR postdoctoral researcher Andres Kwasinski (ECE Ph.D. 2004) has joined the Department of Computer Engineering faculty at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Kwasinski's research and teaching focus is in digital signal processing and networking/communications. Within these areas, he has conducted research in multimedia wireless communications and networking, cross layer designs (especially joint source-channel coding and resource allocation), multiple access to wireless networks, user cooperative communications, implementation of DSP algorithms, and speech and video processing for wireless communications.

Kwasinski was advised by Professor K.J. Ray Liu (ECE), a former ISR faculty member. Liu was also his postdoctoral advisor. Before joining the faculty at RIT as assistant professor, Kwasinski worked in industry as a software design engineer at Texas Instruments.
