Graduate student Juanjuan Xiang won the best student poster award in the neuroscience category at the University of Maryland's BioScience Day event on November 13, 2007. Xiang, an advisee of Prof. Jonathan Z. Simon (ECE/ISR/BIO), won for her poster titled "Neural and behavioral correlates of attention." It is noteworthy to mention that Xiang, an electrical and computer engineering student, managed to beat out all of the student entries from the neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience program. She will defend her thesis next week.
