Professor Alexander Barg (ECE/ISR) has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He was recognized for his contributions to coding theory. Barg was also elected a member of the IEEE Information Theory Society's Board of Governors.

Barg's research interests include coding and information theory, combinatorics, and cryptography.
