ISR alumnus Andrew Newman has been appointed to the Principal Professional Staff at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). His work focuses on data fusion and sensor resource management for military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems.

Newman graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999. His advisor was Professor P.S. Krishnaprasad. Upon graduation he joined Alphatech, Inc., Arlington, Va. In 2003 he began work for the JHU/APL. He and his wife Cindy are the parents of two young sons.
