Jason Strahan is the recipient of the 2007 ISR Outstanding Staff Award.

Jason first joined ISR as a student employee, and then joined the Mechanical Engineering Department. He returned to ISR in early 2005 as our assistant director for finance and facilities.

This is a job with many responsibilities. Jason is responsible for managing all financial matters, developing budgets involving several State, federal, and industrial funds, supervising the accounting, purchasing, inventory control, financial analysis, and reporting functions, managing the proposal process and tracking systems, and supervising the finance staff. He also maintains and is further developing the financial processing systems and related procedures, interfaces with university and Foundation personnel on wide-ranging matters, and performs planning and management for space and facilities.

In his two years as assistant director, he has greatly enhanced ISR?s financial recordkeeping and built a very good financial office staff.

Jason is very efficient, very knowledgeable and very organized and can provide answers quickly on a broad variety of issues that arise. Because of Jason?s competence and abilities, many ISR faculty seek to have their grants and contracts managed within ISR. ISR is very impressed with the quality of Jason?s work.
