ISR alum Steve Haga has been appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan.

Haga received his Ph.D. in computer engineering from the University of Maryland in December 2005. His thesis advisor was Associate Professor Rajeev Barua (ECE/ISR). He also earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Maryland. His dissertation topic was a compiler optimization to reduce code size for embedded VLIW processors. He plans to continue research with compiler techniques for embedded processors.
