Meet Kristen Yee, Steven Hu, and Meron Yonas as they offer a glimpse into what it means to be an A. James Clark Scholar at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering.

The A. James Clark Scholars Program, a signature A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation initiative, supports high-performing undergraduate engineering students with financial need. Clark Scholars participate in specialized academic programs along with leadership, business, and project management training. A hallmark of UMD's Clark Scholars Program is that students will additionally commit to focusing part of their studies on one of the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Challenges. UMD’s Clark Scholars will confront these challenges with a multidisciplinary, socially aware, and entrepreneurial background and will earn a transcript notation upon completing the program.

The UMD Clark Scholars Program is made possible by Building Together: An Investment for Maryland.

All interviews were conducted in a safe manner according to CDC guidelines. Some footage was shot prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
